My commitment

I am committed to equal housing opportunity. I follow federal, Pennsylvania and local fair housing laws, and I give every client the same honest, full service, no matter who they are.

Who is protected

Under the federal Fair Housing Act, it is illegal to discriminate in buying, selling, renting or financing a home because of:

• Race
• Color
• Religion
• Sex, including sexual orientation and gender identity
• National origin
• Familial status, meaning having children under 18 or being pregnant
• Disability

Pennsylvania law also protects people because of:

• Ancestry
• Age (40 and over)
• Using, handling or training a guide or support animal because of a disability

Some cities and townships protect additional groups under their own local laws.

What this means when we work together

• I will show you any home you are interested in and qualified for, in any neighborhood.
• I will never steer you toward or away from a neighborhood because of who lives there.
• If you ask about things like schools or crime, I will point you to official public sources so you can decide for yourself.
• I will not take part in any request to treat a buyer, seller or renter differently because of a protected trait.

If you have a disability

If you need something done differently, such as documents in another format, more time, or a meeting somewhere easier to get to, just ask. I am glad to make it work.

If you think you were treated unfairly

You have the right to file a complaint. You can contact:

• U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD): call 1-800-669-9777 or visit hud.gov/fairhousing. Complaints generally need to be filed within one year.
• Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission: call 717-787-4410 or visit pa.gov/agencies/phrc. Complaints generally need to be filed within 180 days.
